On the whole I like the new survival mode although it can get a bit empty in the late game.still think it's better than the old version despite the warts.

I use Darker Nights and I think that mod adjusts sunrise and sunset times a bit. My character's still performing a function in the game to get a save for me, but disconnecting the sleep element from the process until my character actually gets tired is extremely helpful.Įdit: For reference, my low END character can go from just before sunrise to fairly late in the evening before "tiredness" sets in. My solution came with the SoS - Sleep or Save mod, which is an idea I'd been asking for throughout the beta.having the option to either sleep/save or just save when you pass a bed, mattress, or sleeping bag. I have paid the price on a couple of occasions, but I can only blame my own tactical failures. My biggest gripe about sleep-save was that sleeping was connected to the act of saving, making my character a narcoleptic adventurer, who often woke up diseased after an hour's nap.something alluded to in Gopher's video. Now, it's just second nature.to the point where I tend to take more risk, passing by beds, sleeping bags, and mattresses without bothering to tag a save. I also hated the idea of sleep-save until I started playing it and got past the first few areas, which were intense. No battle is too tough, no conversation can go wrong with quick save at the ready. But that's my opinion, I could be wrong.I'm only playing my game and no one else's. Personally, I think having a quick save at the ready erases all tension from the mode and takes away the risk/reward aspect, making it merely a vanilla level with a few needs elements thrown in. The more I thought about it while playing tonight (level 39 survival leftover from beta), the more disappointed I got, lol. This in turn provides players with a reason to stick around or, in some cases, a reason to return to the game after a long hiatus.Gotta be honest.I never thought I'd see Gopher gut the core ingredient of the new Survival Mode so quickly, though I know he hates it.
